Avalon office participates in activities and family fun on Thanksgiving weekend
Black Friday—it’s a day known for shopping and gearing up for the holiday season. While many people headed out for the traditional Black Friday experience last month, the team at Long & Foster Real Estate’s Avalon office took the day to give back to the community at the city’s Festive Friday event.
In what has become a yearly tradition in Avalon, many local shops, restaurants and other businesses open their doors or set up outdoor booths to create a fun-filled day with activities for all ages. About 30 Long & Foster agents and employees participated in Festive Friday this year, which has grown from one booth in front of the Long & Foster Avalon office five years ago to many booths in front of the office, expanding over the entire block this year.
“Spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Avalon has become popular for so many families,” said Michael Mavromates, manager of Long & Foster’s Avalon office. “Many other businesses had stands for food and drinks, and our activity booths were a perfect complement, with at least 5,000 people visiting our booths – everyone had a great time.”
Several agents in the Avalon office commented on the day, including Marilyn O’Donoghue, who stated the event was a great and huge success. Agent Jennifer Gensemer echoed O’Donoghue’s comments and added, “we have really grown this and Frozen was a huge hit.” Mavromates stated one of his favorite compliments of the day was from a visitor who thanked the team for what they provided his grandchild, noting that they took the time provide some real fun.
