Long & Foster Real Estate once again participated in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in its Toys for Tots program. This year is the 34th year Long & Foster has supported the holiday collection campaign. Many of the company’s 170-plus offices across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast have collected thousands of toys for Toys for Tots over the years.
“At Long & Foster, we’re proud to be a longtime supporter of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys for Tots program and look forward to taking part each year,” said Patrick Bain, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies. “Toys for Tots is a worthy cause that helps make sure that children who are less fortunate in our communities have a more cheerful holiday, and it brings us joy to contribute.”
This year, the corporate office of Long & Foster wrapped up its toy drive on Dec. 11, and its sales offices will be ending their drives by mid-December. Employees of The Long & Foster Companies, Long & Foster Insurance, Prosperity Home Mortgage and Long & Foster Settlement Services also participated in the annual initiative.
“Giving back to the many communities in which we live and work is important to our Long & Foster family,” Bain said. “The U.S. Marines have built a tremendous program with Toys for Tots, and our employees, agents and their clients appreciate and enjoy the opportunity to share the holiday spirit with children in need.”
Once the toys are collected and presented to the U.S. Marines, they are distributed through churches and social welfare agencies to the neediest children throughout the community. Started by the U.S. Marines in 1947, the Toys for Tots campaign is an annual toy collecting drive that now reaches throughout 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Toys for Tots has distributed millions of toys to millions of children over the years, and Long & Foster contributes to this effort by collecting thousands of new toys throughout the company’s Mid-Atlantic market area each year.
