John VanderSyde, managing broker of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Strawberry Street office, congratulates Mary K. McDonald on celebrating her 25th anniversary as a sales associate with Long & Foster Real Estate.
McDonald has been affiliated with Long & Foster for twenty-five years, currently working from the Strawberry Street office in the historic Fan District of Richmond, VA. She has been a Licensed Realtor since 1968, celebrating fifty-seven productive years in real estate this coming April. She is an active member of the Richmond Association of Realtors, and a consistent supporter of RPAC – the Realtor Political Action Committee.
McDonald is a graduate of Sweet Briar College with a degree in Mathematics and Economics. She first had the desire to work in the stock market, a business track not readily accessible to women in the 1960’s. She remembers it was a very different way of life for professional women at that time, but felt like there were many signs pointing her towards the real estate industry. She and her husband John both felt it was obvious that she pursue real estate sales, so she got her license.
McDonald continues to enjoy a business that has taken her to different areas of Virginia, and one in which she can be vital to her clients for such an extended period of time. “Mary K is a remarkable woman who continues to share her expertise and experience with all of us at the Strawberry Street Office.” said VanderSyde. “It’s inspiring to see everything Mary K has accomplished, as well as to witness all she continues to give back to those around her.”
