Long & Foster Realtor Takes Part in Local ‘The Voice’ Contest

April 16, 2015

Fred Pollard, a sales associate with Long & Foster’s Webber & Associates office in Winchester, Va., is letting his other talents shine in NBC Channel 4’s local Be a Voice VIP Contest.

He’s one of 25 finalists to be chosen to compete for a guaranteed audition for the hit NBC television show, The Voice. Voting is open through April 20. All of the finalists have sound clips available to listen to on NBC4’s website. Voters get to listen first and then once they vote on a participant they are able to view the face of the person singing.

Pollard, a Realtor for more than 13 years, has been with Webber & Associates and Long & Foster for more than 12 years. He said he loves his job as a Realtor and enjoys working with people to find their homes, and singing has always been among his interests.

“Growing up, all through my life, I have been a singer,” Pollard said. “I always wanted to sing on the Grand Ole Opry. This was on a bucket list and is nearly impossible to achieve – Carrie Underwood I’m not.”

However, when a friend of the associate broker passed along the audition ad from NBC4 a few weeks ago, he decided to give it a shot, he said. Of the many submissions from Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., and a portion of Pennsylvania, he was chosen to be among the top 25. After voting ends on April 20 the winner of the contest will be announced on Saturday, May 16.
