John Powell, managing broker of the Long & Foster Shore Drive/Coastal Sales office and the Virginia Eastern Shore office, was recently inducted as a member of the coveted Virginia Association of Realtors (VAR) Hall of Fame. The Virginia Realtor Hall of Fame honors Realtors who have made extraordinary and distinguished contributions to the real estate profession and markets in Virginia over a period of at least 25 years.

Powell’s many accomplishments include receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 from Southside Virginia Association of Realtors (SVAR) and being a long-standing member of the VAR Honor Society since 1996. He has also won VAR’s Manager of the Year in 2005 and Realtor of the Year for VAR in 2011, for the Richmond Association of Realtors in 2009 and of SVAR in 2009 and 2001.

Powell has also served as the Virginia Association of Realtors 2009 president, as well as 2004 president of the Central Virginia Regional Multiple Listing Service and 2001 president of SVAR.
