Merger expands Long & Foster’s Delaware presence

Long & Foster® Real Estate, Inc., the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, today announced that it has merged with Delaware Realty, a company specializing in residential and commercial real estate for southern Delaware’s Sussex County. Moving forward, the company will operate under the Long & Foster brand.

Located in the heart of Lewes, Del., Delaware Realty is led by Dick Bryan, who has nearly 30 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate sales. Bryan is well-tied into the many real estate opportunities that abound throughout Sussex County – including the popular Delaware vacation destinations of Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, as well as the quieter communities of Milford, Millsboro and Georgetown.

“I am thrilled that Delaware Realty has joined forces with Long & Foster, a company that represents the very best in real estate services and market reach right here in Delaware, and throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions,” said Bryan. “Backed by the powerful Long & Foster brand, we will continue to exceed all of our clients’ expectations when it comes to buying or selling in southern Delaware.”

The merger with Delaware Realty helps to spur Long & Foster’s continued growth throughout the entire state of Delaware and along the Mid-Atlantic coastline. In March 2013, Long & Foster teamed up with the Avalon Real Estate Agency, serving New Jersey’s vacation hotspots in Avalon and Stone Harbor.

Bryan will serve as an associate broker of Long & Foster and will continue to work out of the new office, located at 117 Savannah Road in Lewes, Del. The office will be overseen by Tracey Espada, who also serves as the manager of Long & Foster’s Rehoboth Beach office.

“As part of our goal to become Delaware consumers’ first choice in real estate, from Brandywine to the beaches, I could not be more pleased to welcome Dick Bryan and Delaware Realty to the Long & Foster family,” said Gary Scott, president of real estate for Long & Foster. “Together, we will ensure that our combined real estate forces will continue to uphold the strong tradition that has allowed this company to grow, prosper, and serve many throughout Sussex County.”

Bryan is a Lewes native and a graduate of the University of Delaware. An active member of the local community, Bryan has been a board member with the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the board at the Lewes Historical Society. He is also a member of the Lewes Yacht Club and the Rehoboth Beach Country Club.

“We are proud to welcome Dick to the Long & Foster team, and are confident that his incredible expertise in helping buyers and sellers through every step of the homeownership process will result in a powerful partnership for many years to come,” said Terry Spahr, regional manager of Long & Foster’s Delaware, Eastern Shore and New Jersey regions.
