Long & Foster Real Estate, the largest family-owned residential real estate company in the United States, welcomes Lewis Nelson to its Historic Downtown Charlottesville and Fredericksburg offices in Virginia. Nelson, a U.S. Army veteran, will specialize in working with homebuyers and sellers and has already earned the Military Relocation Program Certification from the National Association of Realtors. He will work with both Long & Foster office locations.

“We are very excited and fortunate to have Lewis join our team of highly trained professionals,” said Tom Pace, manager of the Historic Downtown Charlottesville office. “The combination of Long & Foster and Lewis’s unique skills and knowledge will no doubt provide the highest level of service to local buyers and sellers.”

Nelson successfully completed Long & Foster’s STEP program, an extensive training course for newly licensed sales associates, as well as associates returning to the field of real estate. The program’s curriculum covers contracts, agency, prospecting, business planning, finance and working with buyers and sellers. Nelson holds membership in both the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors and the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors.

“My sister, Lisa Danlke, has been a Long & Foster Realtor for nearly a decade,” Nelson said. “After years of discussing real estate and brainstorming new ideas, I knew I wanted to join her at Long & Foster.”

“The dynamics of today’s residential real estate market are constantly changing. Completing our STEP program has provided Nelson with the right tools to meet those changing dynamics,” said Larry “Boomer Foster,” president of  Long & Foster Real Estate. “We welcome Lewis to Long & Foster, a company that has helped local buyers and sellers reach their homeownership goals for more than 45 years.”

Nelson holds a bachelor’s degree from Augsburg College, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, an associate’s degree from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, and is a current Master of Business Administration candidate at the University of Virginia. Lewis resides in Charlottesville along with his three children.
