John VanderSyde, managing broker of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Strawberry Street Sales Office, congratulates Jean Longest in celebrating her 21st anniversary as a former managing broker and sales associate with Long & Foster Real Estate. Longest was honored last year at The Country Club of Virginia during the Long & Foster Gold Team Awards reception for her 20th anniversary milestone.
Longest has enjoyed a remarkable real estate career. She embarked on her efforts to secure a real estate license in the late 1960’s, but delayed the start of her sales career until 1979. Longest is an active member of the Richmond Association of Realtors. She enjoys an impressive career and long-lasting tenure as a top-producing professional Realtor, loving wife, dedicated mother, and accomplished historian.
As a co-founding member of the Strawberry Street Sales Office in 1999, Longest’s vision helped launch the first truly urban office location in the area, by taking over space previously occupied by a laundry and a consignment shop. The office quickly became a boutique destination for anyone wishing to learn about the unique qualities of city-living, and the properties available there in which to live. Centrally located, our Strawberry Street sales associates successfully navigate the entire Richmond metropolitan area footprint with some of the region’s top-producing sales agents.
In 1996, Longest was the recipient of the Adrien Bendheim Award from the Richmond Association of Realtors, which acknowledges the Outstanding Realtor of the Year. During her career, Longest’s production level has qualified her for numerous Richmond Area Realtor (RAR) Distinguished Achiever awards, continuous membership on the Long & Foster Gold Team, and recognition on the top-ten list of Realtors at the RAR. She continues to enjoy an excellent working relationship within the real estate community, and is highly respected by her peers.
Longest has a remarkable knowledge of architectural history, and never misses an opportunity to take a class, attend lectures, or travel the globe. She has been a student at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) for over twenty years, taking at least one course each semester during that period of time. She has completed all of the graduate courses in Architectural History, and Urban Design and Planning in order to fulfill the requirements for the Certificate in Preservation offered by VCU. In June 2011, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from VCU, in addition to her first Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bryant University in Rhode Island.
“We offer our sincerest congratulations, as well as thanks, to Jean Longest, for her many years of dedicated work and service with Long & Foster,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Jean is one of the many examples of Long & Foster’s highly-trained professionals who go to great lengths to best serve clients seeking the total homeownership experience, and we wish her continued success in his real estate career.”
Jean’s devotion to, as well as her success and tenure at Long & Foster are a testament to her and the company created by Wes Foster.
