Denise Ramey, a leading Realtor with Long & Foster Real Estate’s Charlottesville West office, has received the Good Neighbor Award from the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors for her outstanding commitment to community service. Ramey was recognized for her work with Crozet Cares Closet, a nonprofit that provides essential personal care and household items to individuals and families in need.
Since the organization’s founding, Ramey has helped expand its reach through hands-on leadership and community engagement. She established her Long & Foster office as an official donation drop-off site and coordinates monthly deliveries. In 2025, Ramey also launched a “Cram the Van” drive, rallying local support and collecting supplies to help stock the organization’s shelves.
Today, Crozet Cares Closet serves more than 240 individuals and over 65 families each month. Ramey consistently volunteers about five hours each month and has recruited dozens of additional volunteers, while also helping generate ongoing donations of funds and essential supplies.
“We’re honored to support the Crozet Cares Closet and the incredible work they do,” said Ramey. “This community has given so much to me over the years, and giving back is simply part of how I serve, as a good neighbor, community advocate and a real estate agent.”
“Denise leads with heart, and it shows in everything she does,” said Dawn Bradley, senior vice president and regional manager for Long & Foster in Charlottesville and Richmond. “She brings people together in a way that truly lifts up the community, and we are so proud of the example she sets.”
