Honor recognizes Bradley for achieving excellence in real estate

Dawn Bradley, managing broker at Long & Foster Real Estate’s Grove office in Richmond, Va., received the company’s first-ever Foster Cup award for achieving excellence in real estate. The Foster Cup award was presented at Long & Foster’s annual company-wide managers’ awards ceremony held on March 20 in Greenbelt, Md. Bradley, who’s been in management at the Grove facility since 2011, earned the award for helping her office to grow in profitability and attract more real estate professionals to Long & Foster.

Bradley, who began her career in real estate in 2002, did not expect to receive the top honor at Long & Foster’s awards banquet. “I was shocked, elated and humbled,” she said. “I’m not a competitive person, and for me, I was just so proud to see so many of my Richmond-area colleagues recognized for their contributions to Long & Foster’s continued success.”

Scott Shaheen, senior regional vice president for Long & Foster’s Richmond, Southwest Virginia and Hampton Roads regions, said Bradley’s award was well deserved. “Dawn has taken the Grove office to an incredible position—contributing to its growth, increasing its profitability and boosting overall morale tenfold,” said Shaheen. “She created an environment for success, and that’s recognized by her both agents—who truly love and adore her—and the leadership team at Long & Foster.”

Bradley moved into real estate management a few years after joining Long & Foster, taking on an assistant role in Long & Foster’s Midlothian, Va., office. There, she contributed greatly to the office’s sales growth and recruitment efforts, and was later promoted to a management role at the Grove facility. Before joining Long & Foster, Bradley worked in the banking industry for more than 25 years, eventually serving as president of a community bank. From that experience, she gained a wealth of knowledge in effective management, business development and ethics—all of which she said contribute to her success in real estate. Additionally, Bradley’s banking business often involved developers and builders, which gave her added insight into the real estate market.

Bradley currently serves on the Richmond Association of Realtors Board of Directors and will lead the Board as its President starting in January 2016. She’s also active on the RAR Legislative Committee, a role that keeps her involved in the business from a broader scope. Bradley has been involved in many other community organizations, including the Midlothian and Richmond YMCAs.

A Virginia resident for more than 40 years, Bradley lives in Midlothian, Va., and often travels to Leesburg, Va., where her daughter’s family currently resides.
