Charity Cox Honored with Several Annual Awards

Long & Foster Real Estate recently awarded Charity Cox, a sales associate from the Staunton/Waynesboro office located in Staunton, Va., with several honors. Cox has been in the real estate business for over 15 years and has helped many families find a place to call home in the Shenandoah Valley.

Cox was recognized for her outstanding sales achievements for 2019 to include the following office specific awards: Top Producer for the Office by Gross Commission, Top Producer for the Office by Settled Units, Top Producer for the Office by Listing GCI & Selling GCI, and Top Producer for the Office by Sales Volume.

Cox was also awarded the following region-specific awards for the Charlottesville, Staunton and Waynesboro area of Long & Foster: Top Producer of the Year by Gross Commission, Top Producer of the Year by Settled Units, Top Listing Agent and Top Sales Agent.

Cox holds membership in the firm’s coveted Gold Team. The Gold Team comprises 12% of the company’s 10,000 sales associates and is divided into five groups of top producers based on annual production volume: the Diamond Club for over $100 million; the Platinum Club for $50 million to $100 million; the Masters Club for $20 million to $50 million; the Founders Club for $10 million to $20 million; and the Chairman’s Club for $5 million to $10 million.

As a Gold Team member, Cox is in the Master’s Club and has achieved this ranking with annual production volume of $40 million in 2019.

Asked about her “why” for being in the real estate business, Cox said, “Do what you love and love what you do…that’s it. This is the simple truth. I don’t do real estate because I love homes and decorating—while all those remodeling shows are super fun to watch, the reality is, it’s notlike that at all.

“The fact of the matter is, it’s the people that make me do what I do. The excitement of first-time buyers when I hand them their keys to their first home, the stories from the home owners as they give me the tour of their most prized possession,  and the relief from families when I get to call and tell them their home is sold so they can move for that new job. Also, sharing this beautiful Valley that I am lucky enough to call home with new folks! There are many oddities to navigate along the way in each and every deal, but the end goal is the same. I thank the good Lord for using me daily and feel blessed to get to make new friends along the way!”
