Expands company’s presence in southern New Jersey

Long & Foster® Real Estate, Inc., the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, today announced that real estate team Mark Arbeit and Co has joined the Long & Foster family. Going forward, Mark Arbeit and Co will operate under the Long & Foster brand at their current office, located at 9202 Ventnor Avenue in Margate, N.J.

Arbeit and co-founder Mitch Tannehill will continue to lead their team of eight licensed real estate professionals through Long & Foster’s Elite Entrepreneur Platform, which allows top producers to build their own business while aligning with the No. 1 independent residential real estate company in the United States. Arbeit will be supported in this role by Mike Mavromates, manager of Long & Foster’s real estate sales office in Avalon, N.J.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Mark, Mitch and the team to the Long & Foster family,” said Terry Spahr, regional manager for Long & Foster’s Delaware, New Jersey and Eastern Shore regions. “The Arbeit team brings an enormous amount of talent and expertise to Long & Foster, and they embrace our company’s values of integrity, honesty, innovation and good old-fashioned customer service—qualities that have helped Long & Foster to achieve tremendous success in real estate and to help our clients accomplish their homeownership dreams.”

A real estate professional for about seven years, Arbeit has been a top producer since he entered the field. In Mark Arbeit and Co’s first year, the team, which then included only Arbeit and Tannehill, sold nearly $20 million in real estate, earning recognition as their previous firm’s “Rookie of the Year.” Since then, the duo continued to excel in the business, and they expanded the real estate team this past year, purchasing their own building and adding eight new real estate professionals to Mark Arbeit and Co. Together, Arbeit, Tannehill and their team have become known for their excellent customer service and unique marketing techniques, garnering a significant share of the real estate market along the Jersey shore.

“We’re so excited about joining Long & Foster and taking advantage of everything the family-owned company offers its agents, especially the exclusive affiliation with Christie’s International Real Estate,” said Arbeit and Tannehill. “This move is, for our team, a perfect marriage of what we have and who we are with what Long & Foster offers and their reputation for providing the total homeownership experience. I’m confident that by becoming part of Long & Foster, we’ll be able to further build our business and better support home buyers and sellers in our growing and evolving market.”

The addition of Mark Arbeit and Co aligns with Long & Foster’s long-term strategy to become the leading real estate company in this area of the Northeast, according to Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. Scott explained that Long & Foster has focused on expanding its services in New Jersey in recent years, and opening the new Margate office with Mark Arbeit and Co furthers the organization in those efforts.

“Long & Foster has been home to the best-trained, best-equipped agents and leaders in the industry for the past 45 years, and we’re confident that with Mark Arbeit and Co part of the Long & Foster family, we’ll remain the go-to resource when consumers in southern New Jersey are looking to make confident, well-informed buying and selling decisions,” Scott said.

Before entering the real estate business, Arbeit achieved success in telecommunications, building a $50 million technology company that he subsequently sold. After that, he enjoyed a career as a writer of Broadway and other musical reviews.
