Virginia Beach, VA  — Savannah Goodling recently hosted Barks + BBQ, a thoughtfully curated spring client appreciation event designed to celebrate the power of community, meaningful connections, and the relationships she continues to build with clients, friends, and neighbors.

Created with intention, Barks + BBQ offered a refreshing alternative to traditional large-scale gatherings. The event focused on delivering a high-touch, welcoming experience where guests could genuinely connect in a relaxed and inviting environment—far from crowded or transactional settings.

Held at Woodstock Park, the location was carefully selected to enhance the family-friendly atmosphere. With its fenced dog park, playgrounds, skate park, and expansive green space, the park provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon centered around togetherness and enjoyment for both people and their four-legged companions.

Guests were treated to Carolina-style BBQ sliders, a curated craft lemonade bar, yard games, and simple kids’ crafts, creating an experience that was both elevated and approachable. A professional photographer was on-site capturing candid moments of families connecting, as well as special portraits of beloved pets.

At the heart of the event was a commitment to giving back. Barks + BBQ was held in support of the local SPCA, with attendees encouraged to bring items from the organization’s wish list. In appreciation of their generosity, guests received doggy goodie bags and were entered into a raffle, reinforcing the event’s spirit of gratitude and community impact.

“This event was about more than just gathering—it was about creating meaningful moments, strengthening relationships, and supporting a cause that reflects what so many of us value: caring for our animals and our community,” said Savannah Goodling.

Barks + BBQ successfully brought together clients, friends, neighbors, and their pets for a feel-good afternoon rooted in connection, generosity, and lasting memories.
