Charlottesville, Virginia January 7, 2026 – Mary Katherine King, an Associate Broker and Realtor with Long & Foster Real Estate’s Charlottesville office, has been appointed by the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors to serve on its County Planning Commission Board. The board is an advisory body that works to promote the orderly development of the county and its environment. King will serve on the commission for four years.

A Realtor since 2009, King has been affiliated with Long & Foster’s Charlottesville-Old Ivy office since 2014. She has been recognized as a Top Producer for the office multiple years and was honored as the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors Salesperson of the Year in 2020. King is a Certified Residential Specialist and holds the Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Seller Representative Specialist, and Pricing Strategy Advisor designations. She is also a member of the Long & Foster Gold Team and the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors Professional Honor Society.

King has been an active member of the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors for 12 years. In addition to her current leadership role, she served on their Board of Directors in 2019 and 2020, graduated from the Pat Jensen Leadership Academy in 2018, and has contributed to the Foundation Board of Directors since 2022, where she currently serves as Chair. She also serves on the Region Ten Community Services Board of Directors.

A Charlottesville native and University of Virginia alumna with a degree in Civil Engineering, King is deeply rooted in the community. When not assisting clients, she enjoys pickleball, golf, and spending time with her daughters in Charlottesville.
