Long & Foster’s Strawberry Street Office Joins Community at Fox Elementary Grand Re-Opening

August 15, 2025

Long & Foster’s Strawberry Street office was honored to take part in the much-anticipated dedication and grand re-opening of the newly rebuilt Fox Elementary School. The community event drew a large crowd, including Richmond Mayor Danny Avula and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, marking a significant milestone for the neighborhood and the city.

As part of the celebration, Strawberry Street agents volunteered on-site to welcome guests and distribute custom-designed bookmark placeholders created specifically for the event. More than 400 bookmarks were handed out during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Agent volunteers Robert Walker, Ian Lim, Susan Fisher, Cynthia Huang, Anahita Johnson, and Ann VanderSyde represented the Long & Foster Strawberry Street office at the event. Their presence and engagement helped reinforce Strawberry Street’s commitment to community partnership and public education.

“We are proud to support the reopening of Fox Elementary—a beloved school that holds deep meaning for this neighborhood,” said Jean Longest, who organized the office’s participation. “Our agents were thrilled to be a part of such a joyful and hopeful occasion.”

The Strawberry Street office of Long & Foster Real Estate remains dedicated to supporting local initiatives that strengthen Richmond’s neighborhoods and bring people together. The office is located in the heart of the historic Fan District of Richmond, Virginia, just up the street from Fox Elementary.
