Annual event allows real estate agents, brokerage to give back to the local community
The Kitty Hawk/Outerbanks office of Long & Foster Real Estate, will participate in the company’s annual Community Service Day on June 8, 2022. The Kitty Hawk/Outerbanks office in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, will join the brokerage’s over 200 offices in the day of giving back by volunteering at Carova Beach.
“Our office participates in community service a few times a year and it’s important to us that we do something that will directly affect our local community,” Managing Broker, Tina Holt said. “This year we chose to do a beach cleanup because we take pride in our beaches and wildlife. We want to protect and keep it pristine for everyone to enjoy.”
Carova Beach is a secluded beach community located in the northernmost area of the Outer Banks. The area is also home to a herd of wild horses that roam the beaches freely. In an effort to preserve the beach for the horses as well as beachgoers, the agents of the Kitty Hawk/Outerbanks office will be donating their time to clean up the beach.
Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company will participate in a variety of volunteer activities during Community Service Day. In past years, these activities included cleaning up, refurbishing and repairing nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes, and day care centers, and providing other assistance to local organizations that offer crucial services to the community.
“Since our founding in 1968, we’ve been dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and our annual Community Service Day event is one example of how we do that,” said Jeffrey Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Community Service Day allows our team to make a positive impact on our local communities, and our agents and employees thoroughly enjoy this opportunity to contribute their time and effort. Whether it’s through our annual Community Service Day or one of our other charitable projects, we’re truly glad to give back.”
