Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 privately owned residential real estate brokerage, has hired Pauline Dent, as a director for its Corporate Real Estate Services division. Dent, who has worked in sales and business development and sales management for nearly 30 years, will oversee new growth and expansion opportunities for the Mid-Atlantic region.
“I have had the pleasure of working with national corporations, regional organizations and locally owned companies in the resale, new home builder/developer and relocation industries. I am so excited for the opportunity to work with Long & Foster and the Corporate Real Estate Services team,” Dent said. “Long & Foster offers its partners in new home building and developing with excellent promotion and the support of more than 11,000 well-respected sales associates, as well as strategic market analysis and reporting, interior design and merchandising, and unequaled marketing and advertising outreach.”
Dent brings numerous accomplishments with her to Long & Foster. She began her career in residential resale with Long & Foster in Chantilly in the early 1990s and climbed to the top of the ladder as one of the top five producers on a regular monthly basis with Century 21. She then began to focus on new homes and learning more about building and land development while working with Toll Brothers in South Riding, Virginia, including the opening of Dominion Valley and The Regency at Dominion Valley. There, she continued to earn sales achievement awards, such as rookie of the year and top salesperson of the year through the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA) Sales & Marketing Council.
Continuing her success in the world of new homes and development, Dent worked with Van Metre Homes as their general sales manager for the communities of Stone Ridge, Landsdowne and Raspberry Falls, providing sales and marketing support to her teams and winning awards for marketing and advertising campaigns. She then became vice president of sales and marketing, where she was able to utilize her years of experience to take a local builder to the regional level through guided vision of the development of eight new product lines and 23 new architectural plan offerings. The duties of this role included feasibility studies, new land acquisition initiatives, hiring and training of sales professionals, marketing, strategic analysis, settlement processes, warranty and construction processes, an enhanced focus on customer satisfaction and more.
Dent served as a council member for the NVBIA Sales & Marketing Council for a number of years as well as a committee judge. She returned to builder sales for several more years before branching out into relocation and has now returned full circle to work in the general brokerage industry with the knowledge and experience to blend her areas of expertise together to help builders succeed with the support of one of the largest and most recognized organizations in the real estate industry.
Dent has been honored with a number of industry awards, including the National Housing Quality award, for which builders must demonstrate to their peers that they have a well-rounded organization across eight critical areas. Additional awards she has received include VP of Sales and Marketing of the Year and Community Sales Manager of the Year among others.
“In today’s continually changing real estate market, it is critical that our business is supported by experienced and talented leaders like Pauline,” said Pandra Richie, president of Long & Foster’s CRES division. “I’m confident that with Pauline’s relocation and real estate expertise, combined with the support and service of our in-house team, our company will continue on the path toward future growth and success. It is these kinds of additions that have allowed our company to grow and support buyers and sellers in all their homeownership needs for over 47 years.”
In addition to its excellent marketing, resources and support, Long & Foster also offers its partners enhanced exposure for luxury home builders and developers, including through Luxury Portfolio International, Leading Real Estate Companies of the World and Christie’s International Real Estate.
