Real estate veteran Lee Renee McGinnis has joined Long & Foster Real Estate as the company’s director of agent development. In her new position, she will work to develop and deliver classes and instructional systems for agents, instructors and managers.
McGinnis got her start in real estate in 1986 and after she became a top-producing agent, she was quickly recruited into agent training and education. Since then, she has been involved in training and supporting agents and managers in both office and corporate leadership roles. Most recently, McGinnis worked with Long & Foster as a consultant, helping the company’s education department with special projects, including creating, rewriting and delivering several training programs, including its former Star Builders program. She also recruited, trained and coached instructors for the company.
“I am thrilled to be coming back to join the Long & Foster family as the director of agent development,” McGinnis said. “I thoroughly enjoyed my previous experience with the company and realize this is where I’m meant to be. Long & Foster has always been committed to providing the best possible education and training to its agents and I’m excited to continue to improve and expand on its offerings.”
Prior to joining Long & Foster, McGinnis served as a managing broker for two different real estate companies, managing over 100 agents. She was responsible for increasing office profits, as well as recruiting and retention numbers. She successfully developed onboarding systems, created well-attended in-office training programs, and designed and implemented mentor programs.
“Having worked with Lee Renee previously for a brief time, we are so excited she is joining us at Long & Foster,” said Dave Conord, vice president of professional and leadership development for Long & Foster. “She has broad experience that has given her excellent insight to all areas of real estate, including sales and operation. We know her skills and expertise will help us continue to improve our agent training and education programs and make them even more accessible.”
In addition to her experience in training and leading real estate agents, McGinnis also served as the director of sales and business development for a local production company. There, she managed a $5 million project that provided training materials to the National Guard. She also served as vice president of the national organization, Women on Course, and helped the organization grow to serve 30 states throughout the country.
McGinnis currently teaches continuing education and post-licensing education courses for real estate agents and brokers at the Dulles Area Association of Realtors (DAAR). She serves on the DAAR’s board of directors and is the chairman of the organization’s Education Committee.
