Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 independent brand, has named Forrest Odend’hal as senior vice president and regional manager for the company’s Northern Virginia and West Virginia regions. He will work alongside Karen Kidwell in leading the region. Odend’hal, who currently leads Long & Foster’s Alexandria/Old Town Historic District office, brings a wealth of real estate and sales experience to his new position.
“Supporting our offices and real estate professionals takes knowledgeable and motivated leaders, and I am positive that with Forrest’s leadership, our market position will continue to flourish,” said Larry “Boomer” Foster, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Since he joined Long & Foster, Forrest has made a significant impact in our Northern Virginia region and his commitment to our company and our sales associates, as well as his forward-thinking approach to business, will help ensure our future success.”
Odend’hal has nearly 30 years of experience in real estate and sales management. He entered the real estate business in 1990 as a dual career agent. He worked as a sales associate at a local franchise in Manassas, Virginia, and as a police officer until 1999. That year, he opened Cowne, Odend’hal and Plaster, Inc., a boutique residential real estate and property management firm, along with two other real estate professionals—Lonnie Plaster and Patrick Cowne.
In 2004, Odend’hal joined Long & Foster as a sales associate when the company purchased Cowne, Odend’hal and Plaster. After several years in sales, he transitioned into real estate management. Odend’hal became branch manager at Long & Foster’s Gainesville office in 2010 and the company’s Manassas office in 2012. He led both locations until he took over its Old Town office in 2014. Odend’hal focuses on teaching agents essential business development skills, as well as the importance of ethics in real estate sales, and he will share that expertise with our managers and agents in his new role.
“I am thrilled to be able to work with agents and office managers across the Northern Virginia and West Virginia region, and to help them to further their goals and their careers,” Odend’hal said. “I look forward to my new role with Long & Foster and to helping create opportunities for managers, agents and clients alike.”
Odend’hal served on the Virginia Association of Realtors (VAR) Board of Directors and previously chaired VAR’s Realtors Political Action Committee. In addition, he served as President of the Realtor Association of Prince William (PWAR).
