Nicole Canole, Kyle Toomey to Lead New Team in Alexandria/Kingstowne Centre Office

Nicole Canole and Kyle Toomey, top producing millennial real estate agents with Long & Foster | Christie’s, have joined together to form East + Ivy, a unique real estate team based out of Long & Foster’s Alexandria/Kingstowne Centre office. Canole and Toomey will lead the team of five agents, all of whom started and grew their careers as part of Long & Foster. In addition to Canole and Toomey, the team consists of Will Lawrence, Jennifer Lynch and Susan Toomey. Combined, East + Ivy members sold over $37 million worth of real estate this past year.

Canole comes from a military background, having served eight years in the U.S. Armed Forces before becoming a financial policy analyst for the Department of Veterans Affairs. She later joined a nationally ranked staging company. There, she fast earned a position as lead stager and developed her love for the real estate business.

She started at Long & Foster in 2016, and in her first year, she was recognized as the brokerage’s company-wide Rookie of the Year. She produced over $9 million in sales volume in her first full calendar year, earning Chairman’s Club membership in Long & Foster’s Gold Team, an exclusive group of top producing agents. She is also a residential top producer member of NVAR’s Multi-Million Dollar Sales Club. Canole has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina, where she graduated summa cum laude.

Toomey comes from the Ivy League, where he played Division 1 baseball while operating as the chief marketing officer of a startup company. He jumped into real estate full time upon graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. In his first year, he was recognized as Rookie of the Year at Long & Foster’s Alexandria/Kingstowne office. As a $15 million producer in 2017, he has also earned membership in the Chairman’s Club of Long & Foster’s Gold Team. Currently an Arlington resident, he has lived in Northern Virginia for more than 18 years.

Unique to East + Ivy is their business’s commitment to building relationships with local and national charities. Each transaction East + Ivy closes will result in a donation on behalf of the team to the charity of the client’s choice. In their inaugural year, the team will have four charities from which their buyers and sellers can select to donate. Canole and Toomey hope to expand this effort to double-digit charities in the next few years.

In conjunction with the formation of East + Ivy, Canole and Toomey will be launching an independent home staging company with professional stagers. Staging has always been an integral part of Canole’s and Toomey’s business plans. Their clients will be able to use the over 2,000-square-foot warehouse of home furnishings at no cost, and other sellers and Realtors will have an opportunity to lease furnishings from them.

Lenny Marsh, managing broker of Long & Foster’s Alexandria/Kingstowne Centre location, is excited to see the launch and future growth of the team.

“East + Ivy brings a rush of energy and excitement to my office and to our Northern Virginia, D.C. and Maryland regions as a whole,” Marsh said. “I look forward to seeing what the future holds for them. The sky is the limit. ”
