Leading Realtor recognized with the ‘Philanthropy Award’

Stephen Mottola of The Mottola Group of Long & Foster Real Estate has been recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Brandywine Chapter. Mottola received the Philanthropy Award from AFP for his fundraising efforts and volunteer contributions to numerous organizations in the community for many years.

As a native Delawarean and true philanthropist, Mottola’s spirit of giving back to his community has touched thousands of lives in Delaware. Whether flipping pancakes at a Pancakes for Parkinson’s event to being involved with the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware and Habitat for Humanity, he gives where he knows there’s a need. Through his community organizing efforts, Mottola has demonstrated a knack for bringing people together for a greater cause.

“This is quite an honor to be chosen by the AFP to receive this award,” Mottola said. “It is a pleasure to give back to the community and work in collaboration with so many wonderful people along the way.”

The AFP, Brandywine Chapter, promotes the fundraising profession and philanthropy for the public good. Its members include professionals at all levels, including development directors, executive directors, funders and volunteers from educational institutions, the arts, health and human services, and environmental agencies. Mottola received the award on Nov. 15 during AFP’s National Philanthropy Day celebration in Wilmington, Delaware.

“This prestigious award is a demonstration of Stephen’s incredible work ethic and commitment to help his community,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster’s Real Estate. “Not only does he lead a team of top producing agents, he makes time to give back to the community where he lives and works, which is a key value of Long & Foster’s.”

Mottola has been active in real estate for over 25 years. He leads The Mottola Group, a team of dedicated sales professionals who have consistently been ranked as a top Delaware team and are known for providing exceptional service.
