Real estate professional brings more than 35 years of sales, management experience

Ross Mackesey, an accomplished real estate leader, has been named as the branch manager of the Lake Roland office of Long & Foster Real Estate in Baltimore, Maryland. Mackesey most recently served as co-manager of the Long & Foster office in Greenspring Valley/Lutherville, and he brings over 35 years of experience to his new position, including a background in real estate sales, new home sales and land development. Long & Foster is the nation’s No. 1 independent real estate brand by sales volume.

During his sales career, Mackesey listed, sold, settled and managed over $5 billion in real estate sales. He earned numerous honors for his sales accomplishments, including the title of Realtor of the Year, which was awarded to him by the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors (GBBR) in 2015. Mackesey holds a number of professional designations including Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP) from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Committed to teaching others about real estate, Mackesey was an instructor in the National Association of Realtor’s Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI) for 12 years. He has also taught NAHB’s CSP course and has addressed multiple Realtors, home builders and college students on a variety of real estate related topics. Formerly president of the Sales & Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland, Mackesey was affiliated with their education department for many years, readily sharing his industry knowledge and expertise.

In 2016, Mackesey was district vice president of the Maryland Association of Realtors. He has also been a long-time member of GBBR, serving as its past president and former chair of its Professional Standards Committee.

In addition to his work in the real estate industry, Mackesey is active in his local community as a member of the Baltimore County Economic Advisory Committee and the Baltimore County Public Schools Ethics Review Panel.
