P. Wesley Foster, Jr., and Jeffrey S. Detwiler Named to Inaugural Swanepoel Power 200

January 13, 2014

The Long & Foster® Companies, parent company to Long & Foster Real Estate—the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, has announced that Chairman and Chief Executive Officer P. Wesley “Wes” Foster, Jr., and President and Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey S. Detwiler have been named to the inaugural Swanepoel Power 200 list.

Foster was named No. 14 on the list, and Detwiler was named No. 33 on the list, which includes 200 influential CEOs, top executives and other leaders in the residential real estate industry. The list was created by Stefan Swanepoel and co-edited by consultant Rob Hahn. Swanepoel also publishes the annual Swanepoel TRENDS Report and Swanepoel TECHNOLOGY Report.

“The Swanepoel Power 200 list, while new to our industry, highlights many of the top real estate industry professionals in the country. I am honored to be recognized among so many of my distinguished peers and contemporaries on the inaugural list,” Detwiler said.

“This list represents innovation and leadership in the real estate industry and includes many worthy experts and professionals,” Foster said. “Since founding Long & Foster, our goals have always been honesty, integrity and innovation. Being named to the first Swanepoel Power 200 list validates our success in those efforts and I’m very proud to be a part of it.”

According to Hahn, the rankings are based on a number of criteria including an individual’s personal influence, their tenure in the industry, the office they hold, the decision-making power of that office, the financial resources of their company or organization, the company or organization’s significance and contribution to the industry, the company’s geographic outreach, and the individual’s recent activities, growth and potential.
