Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, has announced that its Yardley office, located in Yardley, Pa., recognized the company’s annual Community Service Day by volunteering on June 4, 2014 at The Food Center at Morrisville Presbyterian Church.

The Yardley office will be just one of Long & Foster’s nearly 180 sales offices throughout the firm’s seven-state, Mid-Atlantic, Washington, D.C. and Northeast regions, to perform service projects within the communities they serve, according to Manager Nick Ottaggio. Sales agents Mary Lou Cottingham-Traylor and Yvonne Cappiello-Pastor helped to organize the event for the office.

“We believe in supporting the needs of our community,” said Cottingham-Traylor and Cappiello-Pastor. “The Food Center provides a critical service to Bucks County and surrounding areas. Sales agents assisted at the Center on Wednesday, June 4 to help fill an urgent need requested by The Food Center. We collected baby diapers, food, bath soap and wipes, which will help many area families in need.”

Long & Foster sales associates and employees from throughout the company, including staff from its headquarters located in Chantilly, Va., participated in a variety of volunteer activities such as working to clean up, refurbish and repair nearby parks, schools, shelters, homes, day care centers and local organizations that provide crucial services to the community.

“This annual event, now in its seventeenth year, is a vitally important part of Long & Foster’s culture,” says P. Wesley Foster Jr., chairman and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies. “Our sales associates and employees gain a tremendous sense of personal satisfaction by contributing their time and effort to the local communities in which we live and work. At a time when many charities and local organizations have a great need for an extra set of hands in getting the job done, we are honored to have the opportunity to assist them.”

In addition to its dedication to serving the community, Long & Foster Real Estate is committed to the success of its sales associates and is an industry leader in providing the latest and best tools, technology and training. For more information, visit www.LongandFoster.com.
