Pandra Richie, president of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Corporate Real Estate Services, recently spoke at the Canadian Employee Relocation Council’s (CERC) 2015 conference, held in late September in Montreal, Quebec.

The CERC is an organization that provides leadership, services and assistance to its members, ensuring they can effectively serve families that are relocating by addressing the issues that are important to domestic and international workforce mobility. The conference helps those who handle talent acquisition and mobility within their companies stay on top of issues that impact relocation policies and more.

At the meeting, Richie addressed the United States real estate market alongside Phil Soper of Royal LePage Real Estate who spoke about the Canadian real estate market. Their session explored the economic, social and political drivers of the markets within the U.S. and Canada, major regional differences in Canada and changing dynamics in the U.S., a market outlook for both countries, the development of relocation policies as well as strategies to help manage how the market impacts home sale programs.

“I was so glad to be able to meet and speak with those within the real estate relocation industry in Montreal, as well as share with them what’s happening in our own real estate market, which has shown great improvement in recent years,” Richie said. “We feel it is important to stay apprised of the changes that impact both those who work on relocation policies as well as those who go through the relocation process. The CERC is not only a valuable resource, it also does a fantastic job of advocating for the issues facing the industry.”

“It is good leaders like Pandra who work hard to help our real estate professionals and clients navigate the complicated process of relocation, and we knew she would represent us well at CERC’s 2015 conference,” said Jeffrey S. Detwiler, chief operating officer of The Long & Foster Companies. “This is how our company has continued to help clients meet their relocation and homeownership goals for more than 45 years.”
