Real estate broker recognized for community service, leadership

Martha Witte Suss, branch manager of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Easton, St. Michaels and Cambridge, Maryland offices, has been recognized for her impressive leadership and community involvement. The Mid-Shore Board of Realtors (MSBR) named Suss as the recipient of two awards – the Realtor of the Year and the Community Service Award.

Suss received the awards at the MSBR conference last month, which was held at the Tidewater Inn in Easton. Many factors are considered when choosing the winner of these awards. For Realtor of the Year, the MSBR looks for a person who is dedicated to the real estate industry, enhances the quality of the profession and contributes to their local association.  The Community Service Award is presented to a Realtor who goes above and beyond to give back to the community.

“It’s such an honor to have been selected by MSBR for both of these awards,” said Suss. “It’s been a pleasure to help our area’s residents make their homeownership dreams come true and also give back to the community. I was proud to represent Long & Foster on the stage and look forward to serving our clients and community for many years to come.”

Throughout her more than 25-year real estate career, Suss has worked in various capacities of the real estate industry as both a sales associate and a manager, and she is highly knowledgeable about the Eastern Shore real estate market.

An active volunteer in the community, Suss has given back to her community in many tireless and impressive ways. She currently serves on the MSBR’s Legistative Committee and has been its director, secretary, president-elect and president from 2013 to 2018.  In addition, Suss is involved in many fundraising activities for organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Susan G. Komen cancer research and local food banks.

“We’re proud of Martha for being selected for both of these prestigious awards,” said Cindy Ariosa, senior vice president and regional manager at Long & Foster. “Earning the Realtor of the Year award and the Community Service Award at the same time is well-deserved by Martha and a true testament to her hard work and dedication to the real estate profession and to the community.”
