Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the Leisure World Plaza office in Silver Spring, Maryland, rolled up their sleeves and took part in the company’s 20th annual Community Service Day on June 7.

The Leisure World Plaza office chose to volunteer with St. Mary Magdalene Thrift Shop on June 7. Branch Manager Chris Jeffries and several of the agents and staff donated items, including clothing and appliances, to the thrift shop at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Aspen Hill, Maryland. Last year the office donated school supplies to the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless during their Back to School drive. Jeffries said they look forward to continuing to contribute to these organizations in the future, and both community programs offer much-needed items and services to local community residents.

Long & Foster’s Community Service Day took place at over 220 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, including its headquarters in Chantilly, Virginia. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects, including food drives, park clean-ups and more.

“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster and our corporate culture of giving,” said P. Wesley Foster Jr., founder, chairman and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Our Long & Foster family gains a tremendous sense of personal satisfaction by contributing their time and effort to the local communities in which we live and work.”
