Long & Foster Real Estate’s Fredericksburg, Virginia, office will host a free career seminar on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at 6 p.m. The event is open to anyone interested in pursuing a career in real estate and will be held at the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors, located at 2050 Gordon W. Shelton Blvd., in Fredericksburg.

“If you’re an energetic and entrepreneurial person who loves to help people and are curious about what it’s like to work in real estate, a career in the real estate industry might be an excellent fit,” said Kevin McGrath, managing broker of the Fredericksburg office. “We’re always looking for talented and driven individuals to join our team so together we can work to guide every client on their journey home.”

Real estate is a popular career path for individuals looking for a flexible career with unlimited growth potential. As a Realtor, agents create their own business and invest as much time and effort into it as they choose. In recent years, the real estate industry has seen retirees—from former teachers and military professionals to business executives—entering the business after a successful first career.

At the career seminar, attendees will hear the stories of successful new agents and have the opportunity to ask questions. There will also be information on how to get your real estate license, what real estate classes are like and what it takes to be a successful realtor. Attendees can also enter a drawing to win a free class.

The office’s next in-person, real estate licensing course begins on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for two weeks, ending Friday, Jan. 19. Long & Foster offers a rebate program and military scholarship program to those eligible. The military scholarship program allows veterans, active military members, their spouses and their children to take their real estate licensing courses for free. For questions or to register for the free career seminar, contact McGrath at FredVA@LNF.com or register online here.

“Attending our free seminar is the first step to launching a new career in real estate and achieving success,” McGrath said. “Long & Foster is an agent-focused organization and seeing our agents succeed is our No. 1 objective. We’re dedicated to providing our Realtors with the tools and training they need at each level of their careers, whether they’re just starting out or have been in the business for many years, and that’s why we continually invest in our agents, their training and their businesses.”

“There are many choices when it comes to becoming a real estate agent, and Long & Foster is the right fit for me,” said Wynn Locher, a Realtor with Long & Foster’s Fredericksburg office. “Since day one of the pre-licensing class, Kevin McGrath has been instrumental in my success as a Realtor. He’s a top-notch instructor and takes the time to ensure understanding both in class and after licensing. Additionally, the agents and staff members at Long & Foster always take the time to help when I have a question. I’m very fortunate to have such a vast support system, and I couldn’t see myself working for any other brokerage.”
