Dawn Bradley, managing broker of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Grove office in Richmond, Virginia, has been honored as Manager of the Year by the Virginia Realtors association. The Grove office is Long & Foster’s largest real estate office in central Virginia and has over 80 agents.

“I am deeply honored and so thankful to have been chosen for this award from Virginia Realtors,” Bradley said. “To me, being a manager is about helping the agents at my office see their potential and work to continuously improve as professionals and individuals while they grow their business. It’s also about coming together to strengthen and support our community. I truly love seeing my colleagues and fellow agents thrive in their careers, and it’s amazing to be recognized simply for doing what I’m passionate about.”

Bradley’s real estate career began in 2002 and a few years later she became the assistant manager at Long & Foster’s Midlothian office. She contributed greatly to the office’s sales growth and recruitment efforts, and was chosen to lead the Grove office in 2011. She has served on numerous boards and committees, including serving as president of the board of directors for the Richmond Association of Realtors (RAR). In 2014, Bradley was the inaugural recipient of the Foster Cup Award, an honor Long & Foster presents to those who achieve excellence in real estate. The following year, she received the Omega Tau Rho Award from Virginia Realtors.

“We are so pleased to name Dawn Bradley as this year’s Virginia Manager of the Year,” said Claire Forcier-Rowe, president of Virginia Realtors and managing broker for Long & Foster’s Short Pump office.  “As a manager, she is passionate about professional development and continuing education for her agents, she emphasizes the importance of community involvement, and she leads by example with her dedication to the industry.”

In a letter supporting Bradley’s nomination, RAR CEO Laura Lafayette said, “I can think of no one more richly deserving of this award. Throughout her 15-year career in real estate, Dawn has always put others first – a quality that Long & Foster eagerly harnessed when they tapped her to manage their Grove Avenue office. As the leader of one of the most productive real estate offices in Virginia, Dawn has learned to strike the perfect balance of providing supervision and guidance, while at the same time allowing her agents the independence they need to be at their entrepreneurial best.”

Lafayette went on to say that Bradley has long served both the area’s real estate industry and the community. Bradley’s leadership at RAR led to the organization lending $1 million to Virginia Community Capital to finance affordable housing development. The organization then donated the interest income earned from the loan to nonprofit groups seeking to enhance K-12 educational opportunities in the Richmond region.

“We’re thrilled to congratulate Dawn on this newest honor, and we are proud to call her a member of the Long & Foster family,” said Brian Haug, senior regional vice president for Long & Foster’s Richmond, Southwest Virginia and Hampton Roads regions. “Her accomplishments stem from her commitment to helping her fellow agents succeed, her ability to create a positive environment and her forward-thinking attitude. It’s because of the integrity and hard work of Dawn and our many agents and employees like her that Long & Foster has achieved so much in its near 50-year history.”

Prior to Bradley’s career in real estate, she worked in the banking industry for over 25 years, including serving as the president of a community bank. Her experiences in banking taught her about effective management, business development and ethics, and she often worked with developers and builders.

Bradley has been a Virginia resident for nearly 45 years and lives in Midlothian. She often travels to Round Hill, Virginia, to spend time with her daughter’s family. In her spare time, she works with a number of community organizations.

Virginia Realtors, formerly known as the Virginia Association of Realtors, is the largest professional trade association in Virginia and represents almost 32,000 Realtors. For more information about Long & Foster, visit www.LongandFoster.com.
