Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the College Park, Maryland, office, rolled up their sleeves and took part in the company’s 20th annual Community Service Day in June. Long & Foster’s Community Service Day took place at it’s over 220 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, including its headquarters in Chantilly, Virginia. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects, including food drives, park clean-ups and more.

The College Park office chose to volunteer with Goodwill and Eco Shred on June 24. The College Park office invited the local community members to come out and shred documents and donate to Goodwill. Approximately 612 pounds of goods were donated during the donation drive. These donations will help provide about three and a half days of free job training and education for an individual in the College Park community who is facing a barrier to obtaining employment.

“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster and our corporate culture of giving,” said P. Wesley Foster Jr., founder, chairman and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Our Long & Foster family gains a tremendous sense of personal satisfaction by contributing their time and effort to the local communities in which we live and work.”
