Realtor recognized with the 2019 ‘Good Neighbor Award’

Bonnie Sherr of The Mottola Group of Long & Foster Real Estate has been recognized by the New Castle County Board of Realtors (NCCBOR) for her community service efforts. Sherr received the Good Neighbor Award for her many years of fundraising and volunteer contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Sherr is very active in the Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey non-profit communities. Her spirit of giving back is evident in the work she does to help create resources and assistance for families impacted by the disease – whether serving as a board member of the Alzheimer’s Association, raising funds or planning events for the organization.

“Ninety-nine percent of the people I know have had a family member or friend who has Alzheimer’s, so it’s essential to raise funds for studies and research to find a cure,” said Sherr. “The need is also great for volunteers, whether they have the disease or not, to take part in studies to help future generations.”

“This prestigious award is a demonstration of Bonnie’s incredible work ethic and commitment to help her community,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Not only is Bonnie a dedicated real estate sales professional, she makes time to give back to the community where she lives and works, which is a key value of Long & Foster’s.”

A real estate professional for 30 years, Sherr and her late husband, Vino Cericola, created City Systems, a boutique real estate company, specializing in renovating historic homes and apartment buildings. City Systems has been noted as a company that changed the landscape of Wilmington, Delaware, through its historic renovations.

Known throughout the industry as being hands-on, flexible and creative, Sherr has an eye for design and a deep understanding of the local market.
