Long & Foster Base Camp Group to Market New Communities, Chesdin Landing and Summer Lake

Long & Foster Real Estate is pleased to announce it has partnered with Scott Camp, president of Base Camp Development Corporation, to create the Long & Foster Base Camp Group.

The group will market high-quality, custom-built homes in the Chesdin Landing and Summer Lake communities in Chesterfield County. Camp has been working for more than 20 years to build dream neighborhoods for individuals and families in the area that include exceptional amenities and a suburban neighborhood feel.

“Long & Foster is committed to growing our presence in greater Richmond, and joining forces to create the Base Camp Group allows us to increase our footprint and better serve home buyers and sellers throughout the area,” said Brian Haug, senior regional vice president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Additionally, having leadership like Scott Camp and Long & Foster Broker Nancy Steinke, who are all active in the community, provides us with a unique understanding of the local market and the needs of its residents.”

Chesdin Landing is a community that includes 3,000 acres of land bordered by 4.8 miles of waterfrontage on Lake Chesdin. The full-service lake allows for boating and fishing and offers an 18-hole championship golf course nestled in equestrian surroundings. Fine dining is available at the clubhouse, there is also a state-of-the-art fitness center, competition-size pools, lighted tennis courts and many more amenities.

Once finished, the community will include 700 homes from homebuilders that include Biringer Builders, Christopher Construction, Covenant Building & Design, Southern Traditions, Ray Williams Custom Homes and Clay Street Homes. Homes range from 3,400 to 15,000 square feet in traditional, craftsman, farmhouse and Mediterranean styles, and maintenance-free grounds housing for those age 55+ will be added soon. Ground breaking for “The Masters at Chesdin Landing” will begin in the next few weeks. This will add 70 custom-built new homes for active adults along with added amenities without the yard work.

In addition to Chesdin Landing, Summer Lake, in the heart of Chesterfield County allows residents to enjoy the tranquility of the country while still providing easy access to Richmond and Chesterfield. The community’s custom builders have built a diverse array of finely crafted homes to create the neighborhood’s unique streetscape. Homes are situated on lots ranging from a quarter to half acre with side-entry garages, aggregate driveways and sod and sprinkler systems. Summer Lake offers many recreation options for residents to enjoy and is continuously adding amenities as new homes are built.

“I’m thrilled to have launched this new endeavor with Long & Foster,” Camp said. “We’ve carefully selected a friendly, knowledgeable staff to help clients find the perfect location to build their new custom home and walk them through every step of the process. Our team, which also includes Michele McKinney, Holly Pond and Susan Harrison, is ready and excited to put our skills to work in the local community.”
