Long & Foster Spring Open House Weekend 2013

Thousands of properties open to the public, April 20-21

Long & Foster® Real Estate, Inc., the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, is hosting a two-day spring Open House Weekend event April 20-21, 2013. The company-wide open house weekend will provide an opportunity for homebuyers to explore historic home buying opportunities, and is held in conjunction with the nationwide open house weekend hosted by the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

To make it even easier for potential buyers, loan officers from Prosperity Mortgage® Company will be on site at many open house locations to answer questions and pre-qualify interested buyers. Representatives from Long & Foster Settlement Services and Long & Foster Insurance will also be on hand at many locations, highlighting the total homeownership experience that comes with working with a Long & Foster sales associate.

“At Long & Foster, we know that selling or purchasing a home is one of life’s biggest decisions, which is why our sales associates are committed to providing their customers with an exceptional home buying and selling process,” said Gary Scott, president of real estate for Long & Foster. “This open house event is a unique opportunity for sellers to showcase their homes and for buyers to shop for their next home, at a time when mortgage interest rates are near record lows and home purchases are more affordable.”

“We are pleased that Long & Foster’s spring Open House Weekend coincides with NAR’s national event – making this weekend the perfect opportunity for our sales associates to be a part of spreading the message that the dream of homeownership is attainable for qualified buyers,” said Jeff Detwiler, president and chief operating officer of The Long & Foster® Companies. “Local real estate markets throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions continue to benefit from positive economic conditions, job growth and consumer optimism – allowing more first-time home buyers to enter the market and providing more promise for those consumers who want to ‘move up’ in the market to a larger home.”

“The spring Open House Weekend gives buyers and sellers an opportunity to see first-hand what is available in their market, and explore whether now is the time to make a housing-related decision,” Detwiler said.
