Michael McGreevy, a real estate professional for over three decades, has been named as branch manager of the Woodley Park office of Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 family-owned residential real estate company and the exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate in the nation’s capital. McGreevy most recently led Long & Foster’s Silver Spring, Md., office, where he built a productive and positive environment that allowed his agents to succeed.

“I am excited for the opportunity to lead the team at Long & Foster’s Woodley Park office, which is truly a gem location in the region,” McGreevy said. “During my career at Long & Foster, I’ve managed several offices, most recently our Silver Spring, Md., location, and the insight and knowledge I’ve gained through those experiences has helped my agents to thrive in their careers. I look forward to helping our Woodley Park agents to achieve similar results and further enhance the company brand in the D.C. region.”

A Washington, D.C., native, McGreevy began his real estate career working in property management and for various new homes communities around the local region. He earned his real estate license in 1985 and worked as a sales associate and brokerage manager ever since. For the initial part of his career, he worked for competing local brokerages before joining the Long & Foster family in 1997. McGreevy served as an assistant manager in Long & Foster’s Burtonsville, Md., office for about five years before earning a promotion to his current role in Silver Spring, Md.

The Silver Spring office and its agents have achieved great success under McGreevy’s leadership. During his tenure, two of the office’s agents were named to the National Association of Realtor’s 30 Under 30 list and two others earned the Realtor of the Year award from various associations. McGreevy also has been actively involved in the real estate community, serving on several association boards and committees. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Maryland Association of Realtors, the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors and the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers.

McGreevy’s commitment to the real estate industry and his agents has also earned him several awards. In 2014, GCAAR named him as Realtor of the Year for his contributions to the industry and the local Realtor community. McGreevy also is a strong proponent of ongoing education and has received numerous designations, including Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS), Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS).

“Supporting today’s real estate sales professionals takes a highly knowledgeable, experienced leader,” said Larry “Boomer” Foster, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “We are confident that adding Michael to the Long & Foster leadership team in Washington, D.C., will result in the synergy that our agents thrive on. This is how our company has continued to help local buyers and sellers meet their homeownership goals for more than 45 years.”
