Mary Bowen, a real estate professional for almost 9 years, has been named as branch manager of the Arlington/Alexandria office of Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 family-owned residential real estate company and the exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate in Virginia. Bowen most recently served as assistant manager of Long & Foster’s McLean, Va., office, where she helped to mentor and train agents in a positive environment.

“I am excited for the opportunity to lead the team at Long & Foster’s Arlington/Alexandria office in Fairlington,” Bowen said. “During my career at Long & Foster, I’ve had such fantastic experiences and mentorship working with the McLean office, and the insight and knowledge I’ve gained through those experiences has helped me to assist other agents so they can thrive in their careers. I look forward to helping our Fairlington agents to achieve similar results and further enhance the company brand in the Northern Virginia region.”

A native of Fairfax, Va., Bowen began her real estate career as a sales associate with Watson Realty Corp in Northeast Florida. She then joined Long & Foster at the McLean office in 2009. In 2013, she took on the role of assistant manager of the McLean office, a position that focused on mentoring and training new real estate associates. Since then, she has been providing expert guidance and support to her office’s agents, helping them to build and grow their businesses. She intends to rely on the knowledge she gained during her tenure as assistant manager, as well as her own real estate sales career, to help the agents at her new office to achieve success.

Bowen is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va., where she received her Bachelors of Science in business administration. During her time at the university she served as managing consultant of the university’s speaking center where she analyzed and critiqued public speaking presentations for students and led various speaking engagements on behalf of the center.

“Supporting today’s real estate sales professionals takes a highly knowledgeable, experienced leader,” said Larry “Boomer” Foster, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “We are confident that adding Mary to the Long & Foster leadership team in Northern Virginia will result in the synergy that our agents thrive on. This is how our company has continued to help local buyers and sellers meet their homeownership goals for more than 45 years.”
