Long & Foster Real Estate, the No. 1 residential real estate company in the United States by sales volume, was recently chosen as the “Best Residential Real Estate Firm” by readers of The Daily Record. The publication is known as Maryland’s trusted source for business, legal and government news.

“We are incredibly honored to see Long & Foster’s name at the top of the list of best residential real estate firms in The Daily Record’s Reader Rankings,” said Cindy Ariosa, senior vice president of the Baltimore and Western Maryland region of Long & Foster. “Our company is constantly striving to provide the best service possible to home buyers and sellers throughout the greater Baltimore region and the Mid-Atlantic. It’s because of our hardworking, professional sales associates that we could achieve this ranking, and we thank them for their dedication to their clients and this industry.”

The annual Reader Rankings grade area businesses in a number of categories, including business, healthcare, law and more. According to the publication, the ranking isn’t a popularity contest, as its “readers are educated, affluent decision makers.” Online surveys were posted for each category from April 19 to May 17, and readers were asked to vote and share the surveys with colleagues. The publication received 1,600 responses across all of the categories.

Within much of the Baltimore region, the number of home sales and median sale prices remain strong. In June, the number of homes sold in the city of Baltimore rose by 6 percent, while home sales increased by 3 percent in Baltimore County. Additionally, median sale prices of homes in both the city and county of Baltimore increased by 6 percent last month.
