Long & Foster Leads in Selling Richmond Area’s Most Expensive Homes

Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No. 1 family-owned residential real estate company, is pleased to announce that its agents represented clients on over half of the top 10 most expensive homes sold in the Richmond area in 2015. Long & Foster associates listed four of the top 10 properties, and they represented the buyers on three of these transactions, according to the Central Virginia Regional Multiple Listing Service.

745 River Road, Manakin-Sabot, Va.
This gated custom home, which sold for $1.89 million, sits on 7.9 rolling acres that overlook the Kanawha Golf Course. The first floor has 10-foot ceilings and the great room has gleaming hardwood floors, exposed timber beams, a stone fireplace and opens to the gourmet kitchen. Additionally, the home includes a built-in wine cellar, a theater room and a fitness room. The property also includes a pool, pool house and outdoor kitchen, a lighted and fenced tennis court and much more. Michelle Ferguson of Virginia Properties, a Long & Foster company, represented the seller and Long & Foster also represented the buyer.

101 Kennondale Lane, Richmond, Va.
Built in 1940, this classic brick Georgian home is located south of Cary near the University of Richmond and sits on 2.5 acres of land. The foyer includes an elegant, carved staircase and the adjacent front three rooms, which include extensive moldings and original paneling and pine floors, were decorated by New York Interior Designer Ralph Harvard. The family room includes exposed brick and beamed ceilings and leads to the large, sun-drenched, eat-in kitchen. Ferguson represented the buyer of the property, which sold for $1.95 million.

4310 Sulgrave Road, Richmond, Va.
With six bedrooms and more than 6,300-square-feet of living area, this home has spacious rooms and four finished floors. The property includes a private, walled yard with a pool, two porches at the rear of the home, four fireplaces and a wide center entry hall leading to elegant formal rooms. The large kitchen includes a butler’s pantry, and handsome moldings and an eye for detail can be found throughout. The property was listed by Long & Foster’s Anne Hall of the Grove Avenue office and sold for $1.7 million.

8333 River Road, Richmond, Va.
Nestled in the Windsor on the James community, this 8,041-square-foot manor home was built in 2004 and has a stucco-over-block exterior with a Buckingham slate roof. The two-story marble foyer includes a pair of curved staircases and leads guests into the two-story living room with fireplace. A banquet-size dining room, chef’s kitchen, butler’s pantry, breakfast room, sunroom and first-floor owners’ suite with a fireplace are also on the first floor. Additionally, the property includes stunning travertine terraces, a three-car garage and lush landscaping. Long & Foster’s Pam Diemer of the Tuckahoe office was the listing agent for the property, which sold for $1.45 million.

805 Merchant Lee Court, Manakin-Sabot, Va.
This lake-front home has water views and a spectacular brick Georgian exterior. The beautiful interiors include 10-foot ceilings, hardwood floors and exquisite moldings with a spacious chef’s kitchen, a walk-in pantry, a wine tasting room, breakfast room and screened porch. The dining room is banquet sized and the living room and family room each include a fireplace. The home includes both a first-floor owner’s suite and a second floor master suite, with an additional three bedrooms and a playroom. The bluestone deck overlooks Dover Lake and the property’s boat dock. Diemer represented the seller of the property, which sold for $1.655 million.
