Blending fine art, fine living and fine real estate is something that Long & Foster | Christie’s International Real Estate does well. Much like a masterpiece of art, a luxury real estate purchase is an acquisition of passion, lifestyle and investment.

An affiliation with Christie’s International Real Estate and Christie’s celebrated auction house is a testament to Long & Foster’s appreciation for art and all things luxury. That’s why, this spring, Long & Foster, the No. 1 brokerage in luxury home sales in the D.C. metro area,* will serve as the exclusive corporate sponsor of Transformer’s 2019 Collector’s View series.

“Homes, much like works of art, are reflections of personality and style, so being the key corporate sponsor of Transformer’s 2019 Collector’s View series is a natural collaboration for Long & Foster | Christie’s,” said Lonnie Plaster, senior vice president and regional manager of Long & Foster’s Washington, D.C., Montgomery County, Maryland offices. “We’re more than the local real estate leaders; we’re a true member of the community, giving back to our neighbors through philanthropy efforts and cultural events.”

For the 12th year, Transformer will hold the Collector’s View series – an innovative art program, which supports the exhibitions and programs of emerging contemporary artists. Based in Washington, D.C., Transformer is an artist-centered non-profit visual arts organization. It provides a supportive and professional platform for evolving artists to explore and present artistic concepts, build audiences for their work and advance their careers. Transformer connects and promotes artists through exhibition and partnerships with artists, curators, commercial galleries, museums and other cultural institutions.

Transformer’s Collector’s View series presents a unique line-up of home receptions, where guests are provided with an insider’s perspective on the motivations, interests and passions of dynamic collector hosts and their private collections of art. This year, the Collector’s View event will be hosted in the homes of a select group of the D.C. area’s African-American art collectors.

Collector’s View 2019 will be held from May 5 to June 9. The cost is $50 per Individual View or $225 to attend all of the five views in the series. All proceeds directly benefit Transformer’s exhibitions and programming.
