Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the company’s headquarters in Chantilly, Virginia, rolled up their sleeves and took part in the company’s 20th annual Community Service Day this June.

The company’s annual day of giving back took place at more than 220 of its office locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects. This year’s projects have included food drives, park clean-ups, free shred events, blood drives and assisting nonprofit and community-based organizations in numerous other needed tasks.

At Long & Foster’s headquarters in Chantilly, employees and agents took part in collecting supplies for children in need for Cornerstones. Cornerstones is a nonprofit organization based in Reston, Virginia, that helps connect families and individuals with the resources to achieve stability and self-sufficiency. In addition to the donation drive for Cornerstones, Long & Foster also fundraised for the American Heart Association, raising more than $30,000 for the organization.

“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster and our corporate culture of giving,” said P. Wesley Foster Jr., founder, chairman and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Our Long & Foster family gains a tremendous sense of personal satisfaction by contributing their time and effort to the local communities in which we live and work.”
