Kumon Learning Center Joins Mosaic District at Merrifield

August 6, 2019

Long & Foster Real Estate announced today that Kumon has opened at a new location in the Mosaic District in Merrifield, Virginia. Jennifer Burke, sales associate in Long & Foster’s Commercial Real Estate Division in Tysons, Virginia represented Kumon in facilitating the lease of the office space.

Kumon joins other retailers in the center such as Tiny Dancers, Spark Yoga, and Sister’s Thai.

The Kumon center’s focus is on helping children build a lifetime of math and reading skills by using an established method of teaching.  “Our vision is to create a cohesive family of students, parents, and staff working towards the common goal of making happy, conscientious human beings through the Kumon program,” said Tanya Khandpur, owner of the Merrifield Kumon center. “Through constant communication, working with purpose and a common goal in mind I would like to have a center that is in constant growth and innovation in our procedures.”

“Kumon’s program was founded on Toru Kumon’s belief of making the world a better place by offering students the chance to learn to love the learning process, even when it becomes difficult, said Khandpur.  “I believe that the Kumon program has a positive impact on all students even if they are enrolled for a short period of time.”

“I am happy to have been involved with this transaction as they have such a great concept that will help the families in this community,” said Burke.
