Jennifer Sowers Appointed Chair of the Christiansburg Town Planning Commission

Jennifer Sowers, a real estate agent with Long & Foster’s New River Valley office, has recently been appointed as chair of the Christiansburg Town Planning Commission. The Christiansburg Town Planning Commission is responsible for the review of land use and zoning matters. Sowers will serve on the board for the next year and for the foreseeable future.

“It is important to me to have a voice in how the town of Christiansburg continues to grow. These decisions are vital in determining how the community will be shaped for future generations,” Sowers said.

A Realtor since 2001, Sowers has been affiliated with Long & Foster’s New River Valley office for 17 years, and has been serving as a new agent mentor. Sowers was awarded Realtor of the Year in 2009, the Presidential Award for Outstanding Service in both 2008 and 2010, the Good Neighbor Award in 2006 and the Ethics in Action Award 2015.

Sowers has been an active member of the New River Valley Association of Realtors for 17 years, and served on the board of directors from 2010-2011. Currently, she serves on the association’s MLS Committee. She also served on the Virginia Realtors’ Professional Standards Committee from 2012-2018.
