Real estate professional brings nearly 30 years of sales, management experience

Real estate veteran Jacqueline (Jackie) Sellers has been named manager of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Frederick office, located at. 5301 Buckeystown Pike, Suite 250, in Frederick, Md. Sellers brings nearly 30 years of real estate sales and management experience to her new position at Long & Foster, the No. 1 independent residential real estate company in the country.

Sellers comes to Long & Foster from a competing local franchise, where she built a successful real estate sales career and eventually moved into management. Most recently, she served as the franchise’s vice president, a role that involved the management of two growing real estate offices in Carroll County. There, she focused on recruitment and team-building efforts, as well as Realtor training, ensuring her agents had access to and knowledge of the latest technology solutions to support them in their jobs.

Sellers also coached her sales associates on best practices for business planning, property marketing, budgeting, prospecting and networking. She is well versed in business development, as well as conflict resolution and negotiation—skills that helped her achieve tremendous success with her former company. Sellers said she looks forward to sharing her knowledge with the Long & Foster team and helping them to achieve similar accomplishments in their business. She is also excited to return to Long & Foster—where she began her real estate career.

“I’m thrilled to return home to Long & Foster and excited to lead the team of highly trained professionals at the Frederick, Md., office,” said Sellers. “Having worked with and alongside the Long & Foster team for many years, I know that the firm not only attracts the highest caliber sales associates and clientele, but also provides their team with the best and latest tools, technology and training. I look forward to building the Frederick office and the company brand in the western Maryland region.”

In addition to her real estate management background, Sellers worked for many years as an agent, specializing in residential and new home sales. She also has a wealth of experience supporting first-time home buyers, as well as working with short sales, foreclosures and real estate owned (REO) properties. Additionally, Sellers spent time in land development and new home construction, as well as rental property management.

In her spare time, Sellers wrote a children’s book, “The Adventures of Harley the Turtle, which was published in early 2014 and is sold at bookstores and online shops throughout the United States. She is also an active volunteer in her local community and in the real estate industry. She served as president of the Parent-Teacher-Student Organization (PTSO) for Century High School in Sykesville, Md., for seven years and volunteered on the school’s business advisory group. Sellers also has worked with the Wounded Warriors Project and the Special Olympics of Carroll County. In addition, she actively participates in the Carroll County Association of Realtors (CCAR), serving as an officer for the organization and volunteering on its strategic planning and financial committees, among other groups. She also served on the association’s Board of Directors, was a trustee for CCAR’s Foundation, and chaired its Public Relations and Community Relations committees.

A graduate of Villa Julie College, Sellers holds the real estate designation of Certified Distress Property Expert (CDPE). She has received numerous honors for her real estate expertise during her career, including earning status as a lifetime member of CCAR’s Million Dollar Club. Sellers also was named to CCAR’s Hall of Fame and was recognized by her former franchise for her exceptional sales and leadership skills. Additionally, she has been recognized by CCAR for her community service efforts and was nominated for the Maryland Association of Realtors’ community service award in 2014.

“Supporting today’s real estate sales professionals takes a highly knowledgeable, experienced leader,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc. “We are confident that adding Jackie to the Long & Foster leadership team will result in the synergy that our agents thrive on. This is how our company has continued to help local buyers and sellers meet their homeownership goals for more than 45 years.”
