Real estate professional brings more than 30 years of sales, management experience

Jacqueline (Jackie) Sellers, an accomplished real estate leader, has been named as the branch manager of the Ellicott City, Maryland, office of Long & Foster Real Estate, the nation’s No.1 private residential real estate brokerage by sales volume. Sellers most recently led Long & Foster’s office in Frederick, Maryland, which she joined in 2014, and she brings over 30 years of experience to her new position.

“I’m thrilled for this next step in my journey with Long & Foster and I’m excited to lead the team of highly trained professionals at the Ellicott City office,” Sellers said. “Having worked with Long & Foster for many years, I know that the firm attracts the highest caliber sales associates through its agent-first approach and its commitment to their success. I look forward to working with the Ellicott City agents and helping them build their business like we did in Frederick.”

At the Frederick office, Sellers was heavily focused on team-building, training and recruitment efforts, ensuring that agents could take advantage of the latest technology solutions and best support available. She also coached her agents on best practices for business planning, property marketing, budgeting, prospecting and networking. Sellers is well versed in business development, negotiation and conflict resolution, all of which are key in helping real estate associates to grow their careers.

Previously, Sellers worked for a competing local franchise, where she was in real estate sales before she moved into management. She served as the vice president of the franchise and managed two offices in Carroll County. Sellers began her career in residential and new home sales, and she has a wealth of experience supporting first-time homebuyers, as well as transactions involving short sales, foreclosures and real estate owned (REO) properties. She also spent time in land development, new home construction and rental property management.

Sellers is active in the Carroll County Association of Realtors and has served in various volunteer roles with the organization, including on its strategic planning and financial committees. She served as a member of the board of directors, as an officer, as a trustee for the CCAR Foundation and as a committee chair. Sellers is a graduate of the Maryland Association of Realtors Leadership Academy and the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World MAESTRO Leadership program. In addition, she is certified instructor with Long & Foster’s proprietary Success Path agent development program.

“Jackie is a talented and experienced leader, with a successful history of supporting real estate sales professionals at Long & Foster,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “We know that her knowledge and expertise will greatly benefit the agents at our Ellicott City office. Additionally, her dedication to the real estate industry will help us continue to grow our business in the greater Baltimore region.”

Sellers, who holds the real estate designation of Certified Distressed Property Expert, has received numerous honors for her real estate expertise and achievements during her career. She is a lifetime member of CCAR’s Million Dollar Club and the organization’s Hall of Fame. She has also been recognized by CCAR for her community service efforts and was nominated for the Maryland Association of Realtors’ community service award in 2014.

Sellers is a graduate of Villa Julie College, now known as Stevenson University. In her spare time, she is an active volunteer in her local community and in the real estate industry. She has served as president for the parent-teacher-student organization at Century High School in Sykesville, Maryland, and volunteered on the school’s business advisory group.
