Brokerage’s top-ranking associates gather for Top 100 Elite Performers Retreat

Where is the real estate industry headed in 2019 and beyond? What innovations are yet to come, and what does the future look like for disruptors? Those were just a few of the topics discussed at Long & Foster’s Top 100 Elite Performers Retreat in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 23 and 24. The No. 1 independent brokerage* invited its 100 highest ranking associates by both sales volume and units to the annual retreat, and over 100 of the company’s top agents and its leadership team attended the exclusive event.

“These associates rank among the best in the business—combined, they represent over $7.1 billion in transactions annually, a volume that’s comparable to what some of our nation’s top brokerages manage on their own,” said Jeffrey Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Bringing an expert group like this together gives us an opportunity to leverage their unique insights, experiences and feedback in planning our future success at Long & Foster, while helping them build their networks and careers.”

The two-day event featured a variety of networking and business development programs, as well as an engaging keynote address by Steve McClatchy, a New York Times bestselling author and entrepreneur. McClatchy shared his passion for continual learning and career growth, offering valuable performance and leadership advice to help Long & Foster’s top associates remain at the peak of the industry.

Individual sessions built on McClatchy’s presentation, with team-building exercises and actionable educational programs. Attendees gained competitive insights on how to meet the needs of today’s buyers and sellers in the current, ever-changing market. The retreat also provided an opportunity for Long & Foster’s management team to collaborate with its top associates, and ensure that all of the firm’s 10,000+ agents are well positioned for real estate success now and in the years ahead.

“’Agents First’ is the foundation upon which we’ve built our company, and it’s the driver behind our Top 100 Elite Performers Retreat, which puts the needs of our top associates front-and-center and provides them the opportunity to engage our leadership team, learn from their peers and contribute to our corporate strategy,” said Larry “Boomer” Foster, president of Long & Foster Real Estate.

“Our investment in Moxi Works, our new modern, responsive websites, our revamped corporate branding—these are all examples of what we’ve achieved with the guidance of our associates, and hosting this retreat is one more way we invest in our agents and ensure they’re the best-trained and best-equipped in the business,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate.
