Fonville Morisey's Race for the Cure team raised nearly $18,000 for this year's event.

For the sixth consecutive year, Fonville Morisey Realty participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday, June 11 at The Frontier in Research Triangle Park. The Fonville Morisey team raised nearly $18,000 and recruited more than 100 team members.

Fighting breast cancer has been a cause near and dear to Fonville Morisey for many years. Sales associates and employees throughout the company have been impacted directly or indirectly by the disease. Raising money for this year’s Triangle Race for the Cure in RTP was their way to make an impact.

Fonville Morisey offices across the Triangle held a friendly competition to see which branch could raise the most money. They held raffles, bake sales, casino nights and events at area restaurants. They also promoted the cause through their websites, including fmrealty.com and Facebook, to encourage donations and invite clients and friends to join their team.

Fonville Morisey Senior Vice President and Regional Manager Rod Eller explained that so many of those at the company have had their lives impacted by breast cancer that it has made the cause close to the organization’s heart.

“Our team is proud to continue our role in supporting the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Nearly everyone has a personal connection to someone that breast cancer has touched and Race for the Cure gives us all the opportunity to make a difference,” Eller said. “At Fonville Morisey Realty, we are hopeful that the funds we help to raise will one day find a cure. Until then, we look forward to participating side-by-side with our friends, co-workers, family and all those dedicated to Race for the Cure and eliminate breast cancer.”
