Longtime real estate professional Sam Pyrtle to take on new role

Fonville Morisey Realty, a Long & Foster company, has named Sam Pyrtle as its vice president of operations and communications. Pyrtle will be based out of the company’s Raleigh corporate office and lead the company’s business operations and corporate communications, while also supporting the development and implementation of sales initiatives. Pyrtle brings a wealth of real estate and sales experience to his new position.

“Sam has already effected significant positive change at Fonville Morisy, and I’m thrilled to have him play a leading role in our corporate operations team,” said Rod Eller, senior vice president and regional manager of Fonville Morisey. “Not only will he enable Fonville Morisy to better support our employees and agents in their day-to-day business, but also he will help us ensure our company’s and our agents’ continued success.”

Pyrtle has over a decade of experience in real estate and sales management, most recently working as vice president and broker-in-charge in Fonville Morisey’s Wake Forest office. There, he focused on deploying effective sales growth and recruitment strategies to position the region for ongoing success. Pyrtle will employ his expertise in these areas to supervise the daily operations of the corporate staff and each of its departments. He will also support Eller in the overall general brokerage business.

“I am excited to be able to work with our talented employees and the agents across our entire region, and to help them to further their goals and their careers,” Pyrtle said. “I look forward to my new role working with Rod to simplify and improve operations,  communications and create new business opportunities for agents – for a company I dearly love and believe in.”

Pyrtle has been part of Fonville Morisey since 2007. After several years in sales, he transitioned to management in 2013 in the company’s Youngsville office. In 2014, the Youngsville office moved to Wake Forest, where Pyrtle continued to serve as its manager, having more than doubled the number of agents in that office since its opening. Pyrtle has also served as an instructor in the Fonville Morisey Real Estate School.

A resident of Raleigh since 2003, Pyrtle previously worked in the hospitality business for 10 years, specializing in the management of small luxury hotels. As he transitions into his new role, Pyrtle will continue to oversee the Wake Forest office until his replacement is found.
