David Gillis, a real estate and hospitality industry professional for over a decade, has been named managing broker of Long & Foster Real Estate’s Woodbridge/Prince William Parkway office in Woodbridge, Virginia. Gillis, who brings significant career achievements to his new position, is well respected and actively involved in the local Realtor community. Long & Foster Real Estate is the nation’s No. 1 independent brand as part of HomeServices of America.

“I’m excited to take on this new role at Long & Foster and to lead the fantastic team at our Woodbridge/Prince William Parkway office,” said Gillis. “Long & Foster is known for attracting high-caliber sales associates and clientele by providing the best and latest tools, technology and training, and I look forward to helping our agents build their careers in real estate and further grow the Long & Foster brand in the Northern Virginia region.”

Gillis started his real estate career with Long & Foster’s Centreville office more than a decade ago. In 2012, he earned his associate broker’s license, and shortly after, began working as a sales agent and mentor in the brokerage’s Fairfax Centre location in Fairfax. He moved into management in August 2013, taking on the role of sales manager for Long & Foster’s Annandale and Falls Church offices. In that position, he helped the offices’ agents to achieve success in real estate for themselves and their clients. Most recently, he was co-managing the Falls Church/Arlington office.

“It takes a highly knowledgeable and skilled leader to support real estate agents in today’s competitive environment. We are confident that with David at the helm of our Woodbridge/Prince William Parkway office, we’ll continue to achieve success for our agents and their clients,” said Karen Kidwell, senior vice president and regional manager of Long & Foster’s Northern Virginia and West Virginia region. “Adding exceptional leaders to our team is how our company has helped local buyers and sellers meet their homeownership goals for 50 years and how we’ll continue to do so for the years to come.”

Gillis is an active member of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors (NVAR). He has served on the association’s Public Policy Committee since 2014 and is currently on the association’s Realtor Party Action Committee. He is also a graduate of the association’s Leadership Institute. Additionally, Gillis holds an instructor’s license to teach the principles of real estate and the broker’s licensing course. Prior to his work in real estate, Gillis had over a decade of experience working in the hospitality industry.

A native Virginian, Gillis currently resides in Manassas with his dog, Smokey. When he is not working, he enjoys riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends. For more information about Long & Foster, visit LongandFoster.com.
