Agent participate in Community Service Day

Thousands of real estate agents and employees with Long & Foster Real Estate, including those at the MidShore offices on the Eastern Shore of Maryland participated in Long & Foster’s Community Service Day, which took place at its over 220 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The annual event provides an opportunity for Long & Foster agents and staff to give back to their communities through a variety of service projects, including food drives, park clean-ups and more.

The Easton offices chose to participate in the Talbot Treasure Hunt’s Amazing Race on June 3. Long and Foster Real Estate MidShore manager, Martha Witte Suss and agents Meg Moran, Janet Freeh, Annie Raymond and friends participated in the Talbot Treasure Hunt’s Amazing Race; To Benefit Crossreach Youth Missions of the Episcopal Diocese of the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Fashioned after the TV show “The Amazing Race”, 10 teams set out on an adventure seeking the answers to 14 brainteaser clues that sent them to opposite parts of the county along the shores of the Tred Avon and the Miles River.  Upon arrival at the destination where each clue led them, they had to perform acts such as dancing on a floating dock in a gale storm, painting a silk screen on a ceramic tile and posing for a photo under a flying bull.

Each team had a name and a theme.  The “The Treasure Seekers” were all dressed as pirates as their lime green pirate ship, which was a Toyota Scion, flew a pirate flag as they zoomed around trying to win “The Amazing Race”.  All proceeds for the funds raise went to benefit area cross reach youth activities and missions teaching the benefit of giving back.

“Community Service Day is a vitally important component of Long & Foster’s corporate culture of giving,” said Jeff Detwiler, president and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies, the parent company of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Our team gains a tremendous sense of satisfaction by contributing their time and efforts to the communities in which we live and work.”
