Long & Foster Real Estate has announced that its York-Peninsula office, located in Yorktown, Virginia, recently took part in collecting winter coats to be donated to the children attending the York County Head Start Program.

The York-Peninsula office provides support to the York County Head Start program in various ways throughout the year, including this season’s effort of collecting and distributing winter coats. Throughout the month of November office members collected and donated new and gently used coats in the sizes 3/3T-5/5T. This event was a collective effort to provide something essential for many children in need. The children attending the program that are most in need, as well as their siblings, will have a chance to be gifted a coat this winter. This year the office surpassed their goal and collected 52 coats to be distributed by the York County Head Start Program.

The York-Peninsula office was recognized by York County as the 2016 volunteer of the year for its ongoing community service efforts. During the summer and fall seasons, the office members partner with their affiliates and local service companies to raise funds to purchase and package school supplies. The office members also assist in hosting ceremonies and volunteering at other program events.
