P. Wesley (Wes) Foster, Jr., Jeff Detwiler and Cindy Ariosa among the real estate leaders recognized in the third annual industry list

The Long & Foster Companies, parent company to Long & Foster Real Estate—the No. 1 family-owned residential real estate company in the United States, has been recognized for its exceptional leadership in the 2016 Swanepoel Power 200. The third annual edition of the list of real estate’s most powerful people features Long & Foster’s Chairman and CEO P. Wesley “Wes” Foster, Jr., President and COO Jeffrey S. Detwiler, and Senior Vice President and Regional Manager Cindy Ariosa.

Foster was named No. 13, Detwiler earned the 49th position and Ariosa ranked as No. 195 on the list, which includes 200 influential CEOs, top executives and other leaders in the residential real estate industry. Stefan Swanepoel, a real estate industry researcher and author, led the effort to compile the list, which required hundreds of hours of research, numerous interviews with industry leaders and in-depth reporting on the various brokerages.

“The real estate executives recognized on the Swanepoel Power 200 have made extensive contributions to our industry, helping us all to improve our business and better support our agents and clients. I am truly honored to be recognized alongside so many noteworthy professionals, including Long & Foster’s own founder, Wes Foster,” Detwiler said.

Ariosa echoed Detwiler’s comments. “The Power 200 is a veritable ”˜who’s who in real estate’ with both individuals who are long-time legends in our industry, like Wes, and those who are leading the next generation of real estate professionals. It is truly an honor to be part of this list of leading industry professionals,” Ariosa said.

The rankings are based on a number of criteria including an individual’s personal influence, their tenure in the industry, the position they hold and the decision-making power of that office. Their company’s financial status, size and significance within the industry, as well as its geographic reach, are also considered in the process. Additionally, the individual’s future contributions to the industry are part of the evaluation criteria.

“Those named to Swanepoel Power 200 are innovative leaders in the real estate industry, and there are many worthy experts and professionals included in the 2016 list,” Foster said. “At Long & Foster, we strive to operate with honesty, integrity and innovation, and those values are part of what help us to earn recognition like this year-after-year.”
